As you visit our site you will learn how you can be a part of the potential economic development and the riches of Grant County and surrounding areas.

Located Close Enough to Big Cities
Silver City is strategically located 55 miles north of Interstate-10 via U.S. highway 180. The Town of Silver City is far enough removed from the urban rush hour to permit tranquility and a sense of freedom, yet close enough to large metropolitan areas of Las Cruces and Albuquerque, New Mexico; El Paso, Texas; Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona, to enjoy their advantages.

Located Close to Ports of Entry
Silver City is close enough to enjoy the culture of Mexico. New Mexico has 400 miles of border with Mexico and three ports of entry, two of which have commercial facilities. The Columbus Port of Entry is open 24-hours a day and is located 86 miles south of Silver City. The Santa Teresa Port of Entry is 100 miles southeast of Silver City. Dear Gila EDA Roundtable Participants, After a long hiatus during the summer, The Gila EDA Roundtable is back in session! Please mark your calendars for Friday, September 18th, 8 a.m. for coffee, 8:30 a.m. meeting to be held at the Grant County Administration Bldg., Commission Chambers. This month we are anxious to present Anthony Quintana of Q's Southern Bistro, Branding Iron Brewing Co., & The Fry House Wings and Fries. We are also anxious to hear about what has been happening and what we have to look forward to in our community from Emily Shilling of the Southwest Council of Government. Grant County Market Assessment
Angelou Economics, INC located in Austin, Texas has been awarded the contract to write the Grant County Economic Development Master Plan. The initiative is being supported by an EDA grant awarded to Grant County. Phase I of the plan consisting of a Market Assessment has been completed after meeting with various focus groups and conducting numerous business interviews, as well as receiving great response from an on line survey for Grant County residents and another for Grant County businesses owners.
